It is time for me to update this poor neglected blog. I can't believe November is already gone and December is here. That month flew by! I think it seemed so short because we missed about half the month being sick. I had a cold/flu bug I couldn't get rid of for almost two weeks and I was nice enough to share it with my husband so he could join in the misery with me. Fortunately Lauren stayed healthy but with two sick parents it meant she got to watch way too much TV and too many movies. She now has a new favorite movie though - she fell in love with the Barbie Nutcracker Movie and we had to go and buy it for her after the one we rented was due back at the library. I recommend it to any of you with young girls (especially young girls who like to dance).
Our Thanksgiving was nice and relaxing. We stayed here in Iowa and Dave had the whole week off but he still went up to campus to study for a few days. But Thanksgiving Day we took Lauren to the movies and that evening we shared a Thanksgiving Dinner with a bunch of friends who were here also. It was fun to spend the day with family and friends. Of course, I forgot to take my camera with me so no pict. to remember the day by but it was nice and relaxing. And I love the day after Thanksgiving shopping so it was great to head to the mall early the next morning and pick up a few things we needed.
Now we are just getting ready to head to Arizona. Lauren and I go in a week and we are really excited for warm weather. I was talking to my Mom on the phone last night and she said that is has cooled down though so we may need some warm clothes. I asked her how cool she was talking about - 50's? 60's? 70's? She said probably between 60-70 and I said GREAT - we will bring our shorts and sandals! I did get to go to a cookie exchange that my ward had last week and that was a fun way to get excited for the Holiday Season. And we have been enjoying driving around in the evening looking at all the decorated houses.
This was a very wordy blog - sorry! I'll include a couple of pictures of our week (the couple of times I actually got the camera out).

A couple of days ago I asked Lauren to get dressed for the day and she picked out her clothes and she started getting her shirt on and when I heard, "HELP, I'm Stuck". Then she came walking into my room like this. I told her to hold on, let me take a picture of her first and then I would help her out! Unfortunately this is a pretty common occurance at our house since Lauren's head is quite large (97% when she was born)!

And my younger brother was here for a day. He is interviewing for Residency Programs and he interviewed in Iowa this week so he got to stay with us for a night. It was fun to have family in town even though it was only for a day!
