Funny Lauren

Yesterday Lauren and I had a park day with some of my high school friends and their kids! It was a beautiful day and we had a lot of fun playing and being outside. On the way home I asked Lauren if she would like to stop at one of my favorite mexican restaurants and have lunch with me. She loves mexican food so she said yes and off we went to Rosa's. She loved all the decorations and fountains in the restaurant. When they brought our food she looked at it and said, "Mom, Mexican food in AZ looks like Mexican food in Iowa." I guess she was expecting it to be completely different. On our way out of the restaurant we made a stop in the restroom and when Lauren walked in she stopped, looked around and then said, "Mom, this bathroom NOT look like Mexican bathrooms in Iowa." I just laughed and said she was right. Then when she went to wash her hands she looked at the sink and got a big smile on her face and said, "there is a sun in this sink! This is the coolest sink I ever saw!!"

She is also so sweet. While we were eating the yummy chips and salsa and waiting for our lunch I told Lauren that her Daddy was going to be so jealous because he loves Rosa's and he would be sad he missed out. She looked right at me and said, "You can not tell Dad we went to Rosa's if it will make him sad mom!" I asked her what she was going to say when she talked to him on the phone and he asked her what she did that day. She told me she would tell him about the park but she wouldn't tell him about the mexican food if it would make him sad because she loves her Dad and doesn't want him to be sad! I must confess - she did not get this sweet streak from me - I'm more of the rub it in and sassy type!

I love going to new places with Lauren - she is so much fun and says some of the craziest things!
